I'm nearly speechless from receiving the below letter today and eager to get to the bottom of this. I enjoy BBQ and even I seasoned my charcoal smoker from the beginning with guidance from friends in Texas and Tennessee. I've had this for years in this location.
What's confusing me me the most is:
- I showed this person my grill in person 6/20/09*.
- Why fine and removal vs. warning and no use?
*There was a community BBQ about a month ago where I actually stood with the person who signed the fine/letter I received, introduced myself, shared how much I loved BBQ - and actually pointed to my grill, which was within view. This picture is real. I've brought this up to Comcast but it's never been addressed. I suspect this installation contributes to my occasionally experienced Internet weirdness.

I noticed @onlineglobegrid had apologized to me, in response to below Tumblr blog – claiming the spam they sent on their behalf from users was accidental, then deleted their apology! I got a screenshot J

I received a tweet from my friend @paulbritphoto last night asking me about a globe grid app. I figured I would answer today, as I hadn’t looked or discussed any type of globe or geo app in over a two weeks. I had tried a few at the end of June in preparation for an article I’m preparing.
Today, I saw “Me” Tweeting multiple references tohttp://onlineglobegrid.com - and here are the two tweetshttp://twitter.com/williger/statuses/2606457038 andhttp://twitter.com/williger/statuses/2606457208
It appears that http://onlineglobegrid.com place (@onlineglobegrid on Twitter) had Tweeted on my behalf, w/o permission, AND had done this multiple times previously, then covered it up by deleting it. If they had timed this while I was tweeting heavily, I may have not noticed. I logged in after being away for hours and saw a ‘recent tweet’, and got curious.
I immediately went into http://twitter.com/account/connections to REVOKE their access. This event also has me going through the other several places w/access to my account, which I’m carefully reviewing.
The fact that @onlineglobegrid tweeted as a user, then DELETED traces in hopes of being undiscovered is a horrible abuse of user’s trust.
I leave Tweet http://twitter.com/williger/statuses/2606621983 clearly warning: WARNING! http://OnlineGlobeGrid.com &(@onlineglobegrid) is a SCAM! They Tweet using your name w/o permission then delete!
*UPDATE* I've made SEVERAL attempts, encouraging OnlineGlobeGiid to respond to this, hoping they found a bug and fixed, or admitted spamming and apologized, or whatever it is. It looks like a great concept, but the spam part ruined it for me.
